No Tomato Picadillo
One of my favorite cuddle-up winter dishes is my mom’s picadillo, or some like to call it a ground meat or veggie stew. Simple, hearty and super simple to throw together. El picadillo tiene un sabor autentico y simple. Preparemos una comida rapido y deliciosa que sea economica. Un buen tip…lo que sobre puede usarse para rellenar pimientos rellenos.
Ingredients:
2 pounds of ground beef or turkey. For my veggie’s out there, start with a mix of your favorite hearty veggies.
½ cup of Gloria Chile Guajillo Purée
3 large cloves of garlic
½ diced onion
4 medium potatoes diced
1 large can of corn
½ tsp ground cumin
2 stems of cilantro
1tbsp of Knorr Beef, Chicken or Vegetable Bouillon diluted in 2 cups of water
Step #1 - In a large pan, place your choice meat, the minced garlic & ½ a diced onion. Cook on medium heat for 15 min, or until the meat is browned.
Step #2 - Next add in the diced potatoes, the drained can of corn, ½ tsp of ground cumin, 2 stems of cilantro, ½ cup Gloria Chile Ancho Purée
2 cups of water and 1 tbsp of Knorr Beef or Chicken Bouillon (depending on your choice of meat) or vegetable broth for my veganites
Cover with lid and cook until potatoes become soft (about 15-20 min)
Step #3 - Taste for salt al gusto, but not too much salt because we don’t want to raise our blood pressure.
Step #4 - If you want your picadillo to pica add ½ tsp of Gloria Chile de Arbol Purée
